About Ajmer & Pushkar

Ajmer is one of the major and oldest cities in the Indian state of Rajasthan, it is famous for the Ajmer Sharif Dargah which is the domed shrine of Muslim Sufi saint, Garib Nawaz. Ajmer is located at a distance of about 135 km from Jaipur and is generally the base camp for visitors heading towards Pushkar which is located 11 km away. Ajmer is surrounded by the Aravalli mountains. Ajmer has a hot semi-arid climate.

Pushkar is a holy town in the state of Rajasthan famous for the Pushkar lake, various ghats and temples spread all around the lake. It is a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Sikhs. It's set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site with 52 ghats (stone staircases) where pilgrims bathe. The city of Pushkar is dotted with temples among which the 14th-century Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, dedicated to the god of creation, which has a distinctive red spire and walls inlaid with pilgrims’ silver coins. Overall Pushkar is an interesting destination on the western side of the Aravalli ranges. People from all over the world come visit these temples and ghats along with them to experience the spiritual energy and rich history and tradition of the place.

Ajmer Sharif Dargah

First you will be taken to the Dargah Sharif of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
Dargah Sharif or Ajmer Sharif is one of the most sanctified shrines in the country. Located in the heart of Ajmer, this dargah is venerated by both Muslims and Hindus.
